Law Firm Is Destroyed After Bus Crashes Into Building

Just when you thought the summer of 2015 could be no worse for lawyers, this happens.

This summer has been truly horrible for lawyers. Here’s what we said about it last week: “From multiple law firm bombings to multiple senseless murders, it’s definitely been a gruesome couple of months.” Just when you thought the summer of 2015 could be no worse for lawyers, a bus crashes into a building in New York, all but destroying the offices of a small law firm.

Yesterday afternoon, a Resorts World Casino bus careened into a three-story building in Rego Park, Queens, shearing off the exterior wall of the structure and injuring several people. The law firm was located inside the building, and judging from pictures, it looks like it’s sustained significant damage. Here’s more information from WABC:

The Resorts World Casino bus, swerving to avoid hitting a car, struck the building that houses the Law Offices of Landers and Landers on 87-17 63rd Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. in Rego Park. The vehicle came to a stop on the sidewalk behind the building. …

The six people who were injured in the crash were taken to area hospitals. The law office was empty when the bus came crashing through – law books were still seen on the shelves when the bus crashed through the side of the building.

Here’s a before and after shot of the back of the Landers firm:

Anne Landers, one of the partners at Landers Law, practices real estate law. We imagine she’ll be able to use her wealth of legal knowledge to clean up the huge mess at her firm.
