Nationwide Layoff Watch: 'Only' ~500 People Were Laid Off...

This was a horrible time for the legal profession.

At the height of the Great Recession in 2009, massive layoffs were a regular occurrence across the legal profession, but especially in Biglaw. Which month was the slowest in terms of layoffs?

Hint: “Only” 481 people (347 staffers and 134 lawyers) were laid off that month, compared to March 2009, when 3,682 people (1,337 lawyers and 2,345 staffers) lost their law firm jobs.
