Remember when George Mason made a run to the Final Four? Or when VCU climbed out of the play-in game to make it into the Final Four? Quick aside, are you tired of the CBS commentators pushing the whole “it’s not a play-in game, it’s the First Round” on us? It’s like CBS hired the inventor of the Cooley Rankings idea.

Perhaps not so crazy when the bottom seed in question, Liberty, benefited a great deal from Staci’s selection of Cornell as the top overall seed. Maybe that should have been a sign that this wasn’t going to be a great tournament for her. And on that note, with the elimination of NYLS this round, Staci is out of the tournament entirely. Good bye, sweet princess of the Blogosphere. We hardly knew ye.
That’s a solid Elite Eight right there: three top seeds, three twos, a three, and Liberty. I would say it’s a Cinderella story, except Liberty thinks stories about magic Fairy Godmothers are the devil’s work.
