93-Year-Old Federal Appellate Judge Would Appreciate It If You Could Wrap This Case Up Before He Dies

This poor old judge really wants this case to end.

— Judge Damon Keith of the Sixth Circuit, commenting on a Detroit-area housing discrimination suit that he’s been overseeing for the past 44 years. The case, which has been referred to as the “longest-running housing bias case in the U.S.,” first landed on Judge Keith’s docket when he was still a judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. Judge Keith recently told lawyers on the case that he’d hand the matter over to another judge if it isn’t resolved soon.
