— Joseph Levine, a 67-year-old disbarred lawyer who lost his license to practice after stealing more than $430,000 from clients to cover his gambling debts, commenting on his inability to find work thanks to his criminal conviction.
Levine served prison time for second-degree grand larceny from 2008 to 2011. He was denied a license to drive a cab in New York City in 2013 for fear he’d engage in “unsupervised financial transactions” with customers, and that decision was recently affirmed on appeal. Levine is currently working as a paralegal.
