Check out the important update at the end of this post.
Just like their old theme song said, everyone’s a winner at Nixon Peabody, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that when they decided to raise salaries, the firm did it across all of their U.S. offices.
Before we get into the details of the raise, let’s take a moment to relive Nixon Peabody’s PR nightmare from way back when.
Opus 2 Steps Up Its AI Game With Acquisition Of A Legal Tech Startup
With the addition of Uncover’s technology, the litigation software is delivering rapid innovation.
That really is a catchy little tune.
Anyway, back to the money. Here are the pertinent details from a tipster:
What we heard is that the numbers are still in flux but the first year match will be 180 and then raises will follow accordingly for other years – not clear if it will be a full match but sounds like probably no. Hopefully it is though! Yes, all effective July 1.
Legal Is Changing. And NeoSummit Is Where The Future Is Being Built.
Legal and operational leaders are gathering May 6–7 in Fort Lauderdale to confront the questions the industry hasn't answered—with a keynote from Amanda Knox setting the tone.
So it is definitely good news for first years, and everyone else will have to wait and see. But some raise news is better than no raise news! We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.

UPDATE 6/17/16 3:31PM: Since posting this story, the details of which were confirmed by two Above the Law tipsters, we are hearing some conflicting information. Now some sources are reporting that they haven’t heard anything regarding raises from the firm (the initial tips indicated the info was relayed during a meeting, so perhaps these folks weren’t in attendance?), while others are reporting a denial about raising salaries. So what is going on at Nixon Peabody? With profits per partner that rose a stellar 19.1 percent last year, one would think the firm was ripe for a salary raise. As always, please send us any tips you may have (text (646-820-8477) or email) on this developing situation.
