Law Professors Take On The Trump Administration

Law professors have an important role to play in government accountability.

Take Care logoIn case you missed our prior mention, as well as the extensive buzz throughout Twitter and the legal blogosphere, there’s a noteworthy new website that merits your attention. From founder Joshua Matz, a recent law clerk to Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, “top 30 lawyers under 30” honoree, and co-author (with Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe) of Uncertain Justice: The Roberts Court and the Constitution (affiliate link):

I write to announce the launch of Take Care, a website dedicated to ensuring the President “shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” U.S. Const. Art. II.

Take Care has brought together many of our foremost legal minds to offer insightful, timely, and accessible analysis of President Trump’s policies. Contributors include Larry Tribe, Walter Dellinger, Gillian Metzger, Erwin Chemerinsky, Deepak Gupta, Marty Lederman, and Dawn Johnsen; in total, more than 20 former Supreme Court clerks and numerous former senior Executive Branch officials.

That’s quite a lineup of legal geniuses — and they’re just a subset of Take Care’s contributors. Here is the site’s complete all-star roster.

One can agree or disagree with their politics, but their legal analysis can’t be ignored. Take Care is definitely a resource we’ll turn when the next legal controversy connected to the Trump Administration erupts (which will probably be this weekend, if past experience is any guide).
