Twin Fitness Models Pay Their Way Through Law School With Sponsored Instagram Posts

Could you use Instagram to graduate from law school debt free?

No matter where you go to law school, it’s going to cost you a substantial amount of money, which will likely leave you in significant debt; after all, in the United States, most law students fund their legal students with federal student loans. In fact, according to the most recent data reported to U.S. News, recent graduates of public law schools have an average debt of $90,217, recent graduates of private law schools have an average debt of $130,349, and the average class of 2016 graduate has an average debt of $112,389. If only there were an easier way to pay for a law degree — one that wouldn’t leave law school graduates so deeply indebted.

Two German law students, Stephanie Baessler and Julia Baessler (who are better known online as the Baessler twins), have figured it out. The 20-year-old Baesslers attend the University of Vienna Faculty of Law, and they’re doing so on the cheap. These industrious young women are both fitness models, and they’re using their Instagram pages to fund their legal educations. As The Sun puts it, “[these] stunning twin sisters are capitali[z]ing on their good looks [to] fund them through law school.”

The Baesslers have hundreds of thousands of followers apiece, and they post health, beauty, and training tips — many of which are sponsored posts — on their Instagram pages. As noted in The Sun, depending upon the number of followers an Instagram user has, some companies are willing to pay up to $2,600 per sponsored post. Here’s one of the sponsored posts that appears on Stephanie’s page (and it’s worth noting that unlike here in the U.S., where there are all sorts of pesky FTC requirements regarding sponsored social media posts, there aren’t any hashtags that would alert consumers to the fact that this post has been paid for by IronMaxx Nutrition):

The Baessler twins have become role models for young women, and they’re inspired by others who have “learn[ed] how to chase their dreams” by following their fitness advice. Perhaps more law students will be inspired by the Baessler twins to chase their dreams of being debt free — and maybe they’ll use Instagram to make it happen.
