Happy Birthday, Judge Posner

Former Judge Richard Posner turns 79 today.

Judge Posner certainly isn’t acting like a 79-year-old retiree.

Posner may no longer sit on the Seventh Circuit, but Judge Richard Posner isn’t slowing down. After his stunning retirement from the federal bench last year — a move inspired largely by his rift with his colleagues belief that the federal courts are unnecessarily hostile to pro se litigants — Judge Posner dedicated himself to assisting the very pro se litigants he’s concerned about. Just last month, the former judge took on a former pro se litigant’s case himself after the Fourth Circuit refused to let Posner serve the plaintiff in an advisory capacity.

May your day be Pareto efficient.
