On January 16th 2018, Legal Talk Network launched a new show officially titled “State Bar of Michigan: On Balance Podcast.” Hosted by JoAnn Hathaway and Tish Vincent, On Balance is a monthly production dedicated to practice management and lawyer wellness. Despite being a Michigan-based show, episode topics will also be helpful to practitioners nationwide. Admittedly, a lot of the guests and issues will be centered around Michigan but in terms of general knowledge and lifestyle advice, every lawyer can benefit from this content.

The launch episodes will feature 9 interviews covering the State Bar of Michigan’s NEXT Conference in Detroit followed by 4 bonus content interviews from their last Annual Meeting. Although these early episodes are not emblematic of the show’s overall theme, they do feature very well-known names and cases in the legal profession. The lineup is impressive and reflects the credibility and trust earned by everyone working at the State Bar of Michigan (please see list below).

On Balance will soon unfurl its regular format with its newest episode featuring Casey Flaherty, former Kia Motors corporate counsel, who joins hosts Tish Vincent and JoAnn Hathaway to talk about modern expectations of technology competence and why simply hiring young lawyers may not be enough to get your firm up to speed. If you’d like to learn how your practice or firm stacks up technologically, you should definitely tune in by subscribing to the State Bar of Michigan On Balance Podcast in iTunes or Google Play.
