Utah Bar Determines They Weren't Hacked, 'Human Error' Led To Boobs Email

On Monday afternoon, the Utah Bar association sent out a picture of a naked woman, to all of it’s members. We have… full frontal coverage of the email here.

The bar association promised a full investigation of the situation, and the results are in. Here’s the message Utah lawyers received regarding the email:

The Bar Commission has issued the following statement:

We have determined that a link to the inappropriate image was inadvertently added to the email as a result of human error. That error is being addressed as a personnel issue. The image was not contained on any of our databases or systems. The image link does not contain any sort of malware and does not present a threat to your computer systems, software or data. Your membership information remains secure. It was not hacked or compromised. We are taking steps to assure this type of problem does not happen again. We sincerely apologize again for this incident and have committed to improving controls over our communications.

Sounds like somebody is losing a job behind this.

It’s important to know that the bar association files weren’t hacked and that no… revealing information was compromised.

Turns out, it was just some boobs. We should all be adult enough to laugh at it and move on. We should definitely not make #UtahBewbs jokes about the Utah bar every time we talk about them for the next two years. It would be childish and unbecoming of upstanding members of the legal profession to guffaw under your breath every time you meet a lawyer from Utah at a conference or event for the foreseeable future. You should definitely not go up to a member of the Utah bar and ask them if they’ve ever been to the Twin Peaks in their state.
