Columbia Law’s Wakanda Forever Picture Is Giving Me Life Right Now

This is awesome.

Black Panther is the best movie I’ve seen in years. I know I’m not alone in thinking that. The movie is crushing all sorts of records and the symbolism of the world in Wakanda is gaining popularity. Athletes in a variety of sports have taken to throwing up the Wakanda Forever sign in victory, shouting out the community in the film:

“I think that movie is great, it’s great for the community, for our community, it means quite a lot,” France’s Gael Monfils said Sunday, after his second time celebrating a victory with the salute. “It’s not just a sign. It’s everything. It’s everything going on and definitely it’s a shout-out saying that I’m supporting the Black Panther’s community.”

Now we can add students at Columbia Law School to the people getting in on the action.

This is awesome. Full stop.

This image of unadulterated black excellence is the perfect antidote to the disheartening images of cops being called on folks that have the audacity of being black in public (Starbucks, Waffle House, golf course….) that are making the rounds right now.

Well done. Wakanda motherf*cking forever.
