It’s August and we’re still hearing about Biglaw raises. This time it’s Foley & Lardner, who apparently made the move to paying its first-year associates $190K.
Foley, who clocks in at 54th on Am Law’s gross revenue tally, informed young associates in major markets that they’ll be moving up to the Milbank/Cravath pay scale. Unfortunately, we’re not quite clear on what happens to the elder associates. There’s no firmwide memo out there, so we only know about this raise based on individualized memos we’ve heard about.
Still, it must be a relief for Foley & Lardner associates who’ve been waiting nervously after seeing Foley Hoag hand out raises forcing the firm to keep up with the Foleys.
