Bill Cosby Gets 3 To 10 -- Denied Post-Trial Bail

The comedian will very likely spend his final days in prison.

Bill Cosby faced up to 30 years in prison for the sexual assault of Andrea Constand in 2004. It’s a crime that shone a light on years of alleged sexual misconduct that had circled as rumors.

As an 81-year-old man, that would assuredly be a death sentence. That’s certainly the message his lawyers struggled to convey for weeks in an effort to convince the court to tag Cosby with house arrest — a sentence that’s not so bad when you’ve done well for yourself. The Montgomery County DA, on the other hand, pushed for a 5 to 10-year sentence to recognize that no one is above the law.

Ultimately, the judge found a Goldilocks zone at 3 to 10, offering Cosby an opportunity to get out earlier. Moments ago, the judge also denied Cosby’s request for bail and ordered him detained immediately.

In 2004, Cosby was 67. Too bad for him he wasn’t 17 at the time because from what I’ve been hearing on the news that’s the arbitrary line where sexual assault magically ceases to matter for powerful men.
