But the judge seems to have changed his mind about her.

She’s a judge, a former DA. You’d think she’d understand what we are dealing with. … You’d think she could be clear and accurate. You’d think she would know better.

— New York Supreme Court Judge Robert Kalish, in comments made from the bench during a hearing on Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist DeRay Mckesson’s defamation case against Fox News television personality Judge Jeanine Pirro, host of Justice with Judge Jeanine. In his suit, Mckesson says that while Pirro was sitting in as a legal analyst on an episode of Fox & Friends, she allegedly made false statements about him, claiming that he’d “directed” BLM protesters to harm police officers.

UPDATE (03/26/19): It seems Judge Kalish had a change of heart. “However divisive one might find the subject two-minute sequence, the law of this state protects the expressions of opinion it represents,” he wrote in his decision dismissing the suit. “Pirro’s lack of temperament and caustic commentary is what she is known, celebrated and frequently criticized for,” the judge added.
