How much does it cost to take a law professor to lunch? If that law professor is a celebrity, the going rate is apparently the low, low price of *record screech* $8,100.
According to Page Six, that’s what a first-year law student ponied up to take human rights professors Amal Clooney and Sarah Cleveland to lunch at Jean-Georges, one of New York City’s finest French restaurants. This luxurious culinary experience was up for grabs at Columbia Law School’s Public Interest Law Foundation auction, where students bid for the “right to food (and champagne!)” with the professors.

Up to six students may attend the extravagantly classy lunch, and all proceeds from this dining adventure will support the law school’s legal aid work.
This may not be the credited way to spend student loan money, but it seems like the most fun. Congrats to the law student who secured this once in a lifetime experience.
