Stat Of The Week: Early Mansfield Rule Adopters See Progress
They’re outpacing non-Mansfield peers in diversifying law firm leadership — by a factor of 30.
Law firms that adopted the Mansfield Rule in 2017 as part of Diversity Lab’s inaugural certification process have diversified their top ranks at a far faster rate than their non-Mansfield peers, according to data released this week.
The Mansfield Rule requires firms to certify they have considered candidate pools that were at least 30% diverse for several senior positions, including management committee seats.
Now, according to Diversity Lab, the firms that were first certified in 2017 have advanced the racial and ethnic diversity of their management committees at 30 times the rate of non-Mansfield firms.
