Abracadabra! The first Magic Circle firm has now entered the summer 2021 salary wars. Freshfields will be pulling a rabbit out of its hat for associates and summer associates with an increase in salary for U.S. associates.
Now that Freshfields has entered the arena, it’s time for other firms like Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, and Linklaters to up associate salaries. Associates at these firms should thank Freshfields for making the first move and forcing their firms into action.
