Biglaw Firm Announces New Salaries, But Performance Evaluations Could Put A Damper On Raises

Associates at this firm better hope they're up to snuff!

Yet another firm has hopped aboard the good ship DPW, with bountiful raises to share with associates — if they’re on track with billables and meeting performance expectations, of course.

This news comes from Hunton Andrews Kurth, a firm that landed at No. 61 in the most recent Am Law 100 ranking, with $743,100,000 gross revenue in 2020. It seems that the firm is in the middle of its annual evaluations, and is currently working with its prior salary scale to do so. Any salary adjustments for the review period will occur at the end of June, retroactive to April 1. Hunton will evaluate the new salary scale for further adjustments at the end of July, retroactive to July 1.

Here’s what the new salary scale looks like at Hunton:

  • 2020: $205,000
  • 2019: $215,000
  • 2018: $240,000
  • 2017: $275,000
  • 2016: $305,000
  • 2015: $330,000
  • 2014: $350,000
  • 2013: $365,000

Congratulations to everyone at Hunton Andrews Kurth who is able to make the grade for the firm’s new and improved salary scale.
