Fifth Wall is seeking to hire a dynamic, self-driven, and entrepreneurial fund formation attorney to own the in-house legal function related to forming capital for Fifth Wall’s investment funds. In this role, you will lead and drive the formation, structuring, and closing of new investment funds formed by the firm, overseeing and managing outside counsel to help you execute. In this seat, you will take ownership of fundraises for multiple fund products each year, working closely with Fifth Wall’s Capital Formation, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure cross-functional coordination and efficiency of execution and interfacing heavily with prospective limited partners and their counsel. This role is ideal for a seasoned fund formation attorney who is excited about the prospect of joining a growth-oriented, highly differentiated asset management platform in a fast-paced, highly-autonomous function that is critical to the firm’s continued growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of post-JD experience working on fundraising and fund formation, ideally within both a leading Am Law 100 law firm and an in-house capacity at an asset manager
  • Ability to thrive independently in a self-driven environment, including a high degree of comfort with ambiguity and a strong interest in building scalable processes from scratch
  • Excellent business judgment and commercially savvy, with the ability to apply both legal expertise and creative thinking to solve complex business problems
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of constituents and counterparties
  • Bias towards action from fire in the belly, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-minded environment
  • Proven track record of excellent achievement, both academically and professionally
