It's Raining In December! Salary Money, That Is

Today's bonuses are brought to you by the rainmakers!

money rain Winner lottery, man get fortune, earnings rainThough it may feel like all we cover at ATL are New York firms and racist judges, we are always happy to get a tip about how different markets are doing their legal thing. And today is one of those happy days. Raking in $372,959,000 gross revenue in 2020 and placed 100th in the 2021 Am Law 200 ranking, Baker Donelson has some money coming down the pipeline for its employees. Speaking of gross income, first year associates in some markets will notice that their salaries have been raised to $185,000; seventh years will be seeing up to $285,000!

That’s what the scale will look like in Atlanta, Baltimore, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Nashville, and DC. Birmingham, Memphis, Orlando, and Raleigh will now start at $150K. Associates in Baton Rouge, Chattanooga, Columbia, Jackson, Johnson City, Knoxville, Macon, Mandeville, New Orleans, and Tallahassee will go to a $135K scale.

Now that is some money. Do you know how many cans of Arizona iced tea you could buy with that? At least fifteen — give or take. Trust, they should be well prepared for Dollar Tree’s price bump.

But wait, there’s more!

The firm will also be giving additional payouts based on the amount of hours worked.

1900: 5000
2000: 10% of salary
2100: 15% of salary
2200: 20% of salary

I know you’ve been waiting on Netflix to release the second half of Stone Ocean, but you’d probably be better off logging those hours instead of watching episodes anyway.

We like hearing about bonuses and salaries almost as much as you enjoy spending them. As soon as your firm’s memo comes out, please email it to us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Bonus”) or text us (646-820-8477). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.

And if you’d like to sign up for ATL’s Salary & Bonus Alerts, please scroll down and enter your email address in the box below this post. If you previously signed up for the bonus alerts, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll receive an email notification within minutes of each bonus announcement that we publish.
