Biglaw Firm Hands Out Raises To New York Associates To Ring In The Weekend

Exciting news!

money up arrow 2022It’s been a little less than six months since the great Biglaw salary scramble of 2022 began, and some firms are just now making good on the money for associates. Which is the latest firm to step up to the plate and increase wages for its hardworking attorneys?

That would be Kasowitz Benson Torres, which brought in $238,409,000 gross revenue in 2021, putting the firm in 142nd place in the most recent Am Law 200 ranking. Here’s what the new salary scale looks like at the firm.

Kasowitz 2022 Raise Salary Scale

That’s a Cravath match, and according to the memo, it appears that these raises are being applied only to associates in the firm’s New York office. If you recall, the last time Kasowitz raised salaries in 2021, it was a firmwide move across all offices. Not to worry, though, because a source tells us that most attorneys in the firm’s satellite offices are partners, counsel, or very senior, so limiting the salary increases to New York will “not likely [have a] huge impact.”

These salary adjustments are effective as of April 1, 2022, so associates will be receiving some true-up money in their June paychecks. Congratulations to all of the firm’s New York associates!
