How CFOs And GCs Can Partner To Navigate A Recessionary Economy

This is a can't-miss webinar for legal and financial leaders looking to learn more about key economic factors impacting legal departments in 2023.

d-koi-_zFVwcKZh10-unsplashGCs are experiencing a parallel crisis of budget cuts and increasingly complex workloads. According to a recent Axiom survey, 98% of in-house legal leaders say their budget has been cut because of the downturn, with many (56%) who say it’s been cut a great deal.

Even as budgets shrink, workloads rise; virtually all in-house legal leaders (99%) report an increase in the volume and complexity of legal matters.

These compounding issues are creating a perfect storm for GCs struggling to maintain a staff capable of doing more with less. Most legal leaders (92%) say they don’t have the in-house staff to do their job effectively. Nor can they just hire them. Why? Because 94% predict an imminent hiring freeze.

How can GCs best navigate the storm? By partnering with the CFO. A strong partnership with the company’s CFO is one of the best tools to help GCs transition from fixed to flexible spending so they can get more value out of every budgeted dollar.

Moderated by Axiom CEO, David McVeigh, our panel will discuss the CFO/GC partnership, with perspectives from Robert Green, Cambrex CFO; Patrick Puzzuoli, Kroll CFO; and Shanti Ariker, Zendesk GC.
