— Attorney General Merrick Garland, in comments given in response to claims made by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) that FBI agents are allegedly “angry” that the Department of Justice is being “treated as the enforcement arm for the DNC,” during a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting. Garland went on to note that he “vigorously” disagreed with Cruz’s characterization of the DOJ, going on to defend its members, saying, “Every day, the 115,000 employees of the Justice Department work tirelessly to fulfill our mission: to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe and to protect civil rights.”
