Quinn Emanuel Is Out With Its Detailed Bonus Matrix

This is bonus week at Quinn Emanuel, where there’s a lot of money on the table for folks. But you may need a calculator to figure out what Quinn associates are getting relative to the market.
It all goes back to the special bonuses the firm issued in October, placing the associates a bit ahead of the game even before this round. So let’s check out what they’ve announced now.
On its face, the matrix requires associates to bill between 2100-2399 hours just to get back to level with the rest of the market. But in actuality, those associates are already ahead based on October. Let’s do a little math to see where everyone really is by adding October and December.

So it’s not as bleak as it looks at first blush, but if someone is working at Quinn they do appear to have to get over 2100 hours to keep up with their compatriots at other firms. Though they can really get ahead if they are substantially over.
But the real moral of the story is “Quinn needs to hire people who understand round numbers.”
