In one of the most shocking and controversial Olympic moments in a generation, U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles was stripped of her bronze medal in the floor exercise. The Court of Arbitration for Sport made the largely unprecedented move after ruling Chiles’s scoring inquiry into her floor routine (which gave her the extra tenths necessary to secure the bronze medal) came four seconds too late (despite video evidence USA Gymnastics claims to have that the inquiry was received within the prescribed time).
