The University of Chicago Law School recently announced that Adam Chilton will become the elite school’s next dean. Chilton currently serves as the Howard G. Krane Professor of Law and Walter Mander Research Scholar at the school, and is due to take on his new role on July 1.
Chilton, a graduate of Harvard Law School, is a true academic, with dual master’s degrees in political science from Yale and Harvard, as well as a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard. He joined the Chicago Law faculty in 2014, after serving as a Bigelow Fellow and Lecturer in Law. As noted by Law.com, his research and teaching focuses on the intersection of international law, comparative law, and empirical legal studies.
In a statement, Chilton reflected on his upcoming role as Chicago Law’s dean:
