The associate salary dominoes keep falling. While some firms are still crunching numbers and weighing their options, boutique firms continue to move with surprising speed, sending a clear message to associates: if the market is paying more, they don’t intend to be left behind. For associates keeping score at home, the list of firms matching Milbank’s new salary scale is growing by the day.
Yesterday afternoon, D.C.-based litigation boutique Wilkinson Stekloff announced that it will match the new Milbank scale. Known for offering bonuses that regularly blow the market out of the water, it’s hardly surprising to see the firm make a quick move on associate compensation. In an email announcing the raises, the firm’s partners thanked associates for their hard work and dedication to both the firm and its clients.
