Above The Law’s Law Revue Video Contest: Yea Or Nay?

We could all use this happy distraction.

Spring has sprung, and in more precedented times, that would mean that we’d be seeking submissions for our annual law revue video contest. In 2020, for the first time in 12 years, we didn’t hold a competition thanks to the pandemic. After all, things were looking rather bleak: law schools closed down to create online classrooms, and students were either scattered across the country after being forced from their on-campus housing arrangements or unable to meet up with their friends in person thanks to quarantine orders.

But are things any different one year later? Are we back to normal yet?

Most law schools are still online, but over the course of the past year, we’ve all learned that almost anything is possible thanks to new technologies. That said, we’ve been wondering if we should hold a law revue contest for 2021. If state judges and federal judges can film viral music parody videos in the COVID era, law students can too.

So, what do you say? Should Above the Law hold a law revue competition this year? Has your law school prepared anything? Please let us know, either by emailing us at [email protected] with the subject line “Law Revue Video Contest 2021 – [School Name]” or texting us (646-820-8477). We can’t wait to hear from you.
