Judge Judy Allows Dog To Decide Animal Custody Case For Her

The defendant in this case was really barking up the wrong tree.

Judge Judy

Animal custody cases can be difficult to decide, which is why it’s sometimes best to leave the dirty work to a judge who’s willing to pull out all the stops in an effort to allow justice to prevail, even for non-humans — someone like Judge Judy.

In a 2012 episode of her televised courtroom show that was recently given new life thanks to the wonders of the internet, Judge Judy heard a dispute between a man whose lost dog, Baby Boy, had been sold to a woman for $50 on the street. The woman contended that the dog was legally hers, not the man’s, and was unwilling to part with the dog. Instead of deciding the case for herself, Judge Judy allowed the dog to make the decision for her. Check out the clip:

Every dog has its day, and luckily for Baby Boy, who was happily reunited with his owner, he just so happened to have his day in Judge Judy’s courtroom.
