Let's look at the Lawyerly Lair that a senior Cadwalader lawyer recently acquired -- on Park Avenue, one of the world's legendary thoroughfares -- for just a shade under $6 million....

The listing describes this space as a “large chef’s kitchen, [with] a breakfast room that extends onto the terrace.” The pale wood cabinetry doesn’t look particularly high-end (at least for a $6 million apartment). But the oven appears to be of restaurant quality, perhaps a Viking, and the sun-drenched breakfast room looks quite inviting.
