To address concerns of adverse impact upon the public’s perception of the dignity and integrity of the judiciary, [Rhonda Crawford] agrees to not oppose entry of an order that would delay her from assuming office as a circuit court judge until the disciplinary case has been resolved.
— An excerpt taken from a document filed with the Supreme Court of Illinois by Rhonda Crawford, a candidate running unopposed for a Chicago-area judgeship, in response to a request from the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. In August, Crawford, then a law clerk, allegedly wore a judge’s robes and heard cases in her stead. Crawford was later fired from her position and criminally indicted for allegedly impersonating a judge.
