Lawyerly Lairs: An In-House Counsel Heads To The Hamptons

You don't need to be a Biglaw partner to buy a home in the Hamptons.

Of course, as happens in pretty much every one of these columns, the couple had to raise their budget. They found a three-bedroom in the Northeast Woods section of East Hampton that they liked, but their offer, just below the asking price of $879,000, proved insufficient. The house actually went for $885,000, above the ask.

Minardo and Sniggs kept up the hunt, with the help of their broker, Ray Lord of Douglas Elliman (who represents sellers as well as buyers — including sellers of far more expensive homes). They expanded beyond the Northeast Woods neighborhood — considering this four-bedroom house in the Springs hamlet, for example:

It had a garage but practically no yard. And the current resident smoked — yuck.

And then they came upon this property….
