It's Apparently A Great Day To Get A Raise In Biglaw!

#BishBettaHaveMyMoney

Seriously. Shearman & Sterling didn’t waste all of its money destroying its own logo, because it is now the fourth Biglaw firm of the day to announce the fact that it has adopted the new $190K salary scale. All U.S. Track associates and all summer associates at the firm will see their salaries increase in the July 13 pay period.

This is what the new salary scale will look like at the firm:

  • Class of 2017: $190,000 / $5,000
  • Class of 2016: $200,000 / $7,500
  • Class of 2015: $220,000 / $10,000
  • Class of 2014: $255,000 / $15,000
  • Class of 2013: $280,000 / $20,000
  • Class of 2012: $305,000 / $25,000
  • Class of 2011: $325,000 / $25,000
  • Class of 2010+: $340,000 / $25,000

A sassy Shearman associate said it best with regard to the firm’s new salary scale:

Shearman is now 190 with bonus. After that multimillion-dollar re-branding effort it would have been fake news, an American tragedy if they didn’t pay me what they owe me. I’m very expensive, I know my worth. #BishBettaHaveMyMoney
