As any lawyer knows, when you’ve got a celebrity as a client, things can get pretty interesting. That being said, perhaps you’ve heard about rapper 2 Milly’s lawsuit against Epic Games for the company’s alleged misappropriation of the “Milly Rock” dance in Season 5 of Fortnite. In the battle royale game, the dance emote is called the “Swipe It,” which is exactly what 2 Milly claims happened here — that Epic Games swiped his moves without permission and is now making money off the use of his likeness.
David L. Hecht, a partner at litigation boutique Pierce Bainbridge, is representing 2 Milly in his case against the video game developer, and his client just offered up “THE GREATEST LAW FIRM TESTIMONIAL IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!!!”
Legal Is Changing. And NeoSummit Is Where The Future Is Being Built.
Legal and operational leaders are gathering May 6–7 in Fort Lauderdale to confront the questions the industry hasn't answered—with a keynote from Amanda Knox setting the tone.
Congratulations to David Hecht and Pierce Bainbridge. They can Milly Rock on any block, and they’ll definitely be counting cash if they win this lawsuit.
