What could possibly be better than bonus news? Even more of it!

Yet another Biglaw firm has announced its year-end bonuses, and this time, it’s none other than Shearman & Sterling, one of the few firms that went out of its way to shower its associates with cash earlier this fall during the special bonus wars. What does Shearman have in store for associates in terms of their year-end bonus hauls?

It’s a Cravath match, of course. Here’s what the scale looks like at the firm:

Class of 2019 – $15,000

Class of 2018 – $25,000

Class of 2017 – $50,000

Class of 2016 – $65,000

Class of 2015 – $80,000

Class of 2014 – $90,000

Class of 2013 and above – $100,000

It should be noted, however, that these are just “standard” bonus amounts; individual bonus amounts at Shearman are discretionary and based on performance. Hopefully that turns out well for associates during a pandemic.

Bonus money at the firm will be paid out on December 18. Congratulations to all!
