Cleary Gottlieb Makes Associate Compensation Move
Unsurprisingly the elite firm made a salary move!
Well, a LOT has been happening in the world of Biglaw associate compensation over the last 36 or so hours. But the big news — at least at the time of publication is that Davis Polk, as is kinda their tradition, set a new market standard for associate salaries, coming over the top of the scale set yesterday by Milbank.
Now the floodgates have opened, with firms — eager to prove they can hang with the top of the industry — have matched the new salary grid. And that’s exactly what Cleary Gottlieb has done. The firm announced that, as of July 1, they will be moving to the below compensation schedule:
