Big Firm, Big Raises

All the cool Biglaw firms are doing it.

Yup, yup, yup, another Biglaw firm has joined the new compensation market standard. The only question is which firm? After all, it’s only been a week since the Biglaw raise train left the station, and at some firms, it takes a minute until they can match. But match they will — at least if they want to stand a chance to retain and recruit the best attorneys out there.

Unsurprisingly, Simpson Thacher can now be counted as a firm paying its associates at the top of the market. After all, they’re currently ranked 14th on the Am Law 100 with  $1,844,627,000 in gross revenue last year.

As of July 1, the new salary grid at Simpson will be as follows:
