Whoa there, Biglaw! Things are about to get a crazy thanks to Davis Polk’s move to raise the new salary scale even higher. Just before that happened, yet another firm squeaked in with a Milbank match, and this time around, it was a firm that you’d actually expect to be one of the first to match the market.
Back in 2018, Winston & Strawn was one of the first to match Milbank, and now in 2021, the firm is making the same move. Winston associates will be making money on the new (old) salary scale:

Last time the new salary scale made a quick switch, the firm took about three weeks or so to adopt it, and we expect the same thing will happen here — but maybe a little sooner, if associates are lucky. Congratulations to all at the firm!
