In late October, Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, with a prop gun on the movie set of the film “Rust.” As we previously noted, Matt Hutchins, Halyna’s husband, is a corporate associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins, and now it looks like the widower has lawyered up.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Hutchins has hired Panish Shea Boyle Ravipudi, an L.A.-based plaintiffs’ firm specializing in wrongful-death litigation. Brian Panish will act as lead counsel.

A spokesman for the law firm confirmed that it had been retained by the Hutchins family but declined to comment on any plans to file suit.
“Respecting Mr. Hutchins’ request for privacy as the family grieves the loss of Halyna Hutchins, the firm will not be making any statements at this time,” the firm said.
