Real Estate Counsel – Private Equity Fund (Austin, TX) Confidential Search | Retained by Kinney Recruiting We’re partnering with a well-capitalized private equity fund —now deploying its second fund with close to $1B in available capital —to hire a Real Estate Counsel who will lead acquisitions and help scale a rapidly growing platform in an emerging industrial asset class . This is a unique opportunity to help shape the legal backbone of a business that’s transforming underutilized land in key metro markets into high-demand logistics infrastructure —the backbone of modern freight and mobility networks. Think: no warehouses, just raw land converted into purpose-built, revenue-generating outdoor hubs. The Role: Lead legal execution of real estate acquisitions , from PSA through close. Coordinate diligence and external counsel, particularly around title issues and entitlements. Support strategic/compliance matters related to the company’s REIT conversion (tax/ops handled externally). Work directly with entrepreneurial principals on a lean, high-velocity deal team. Who You Are: A mid-to-senior BigLaw real estate associate (class of 2017–2020 preferred). Experienced in acquisitions and land/development work—industrial or otherwise. Comfortable with ownership, lean teams, and transactional velocity. Excited to step out of law firm life and help build a platform with long-term upside.
