Biglaw Firm Launches New Office To Support Technology Practice

Santa Monica bound!

The Biglaw firm of Fenwick & West is getting even bigger. The firm announced today they’re opening up a Souther California outpost in Santa Monica. The office will be led by corporate partner Michael Brown, who is splitting his time between the San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Monica offices. Joining Brown in Santa Monica are partners Faisal Rashid and Ran Ben-Tzur, as well as a contingent of associates and other professionals.

As Fenwick chair, Richard Dickson said in a statement, the new office was created to better support their clients in the technology, life sciences and investment spaces:

“We take a client-centric approach to setting our growth strategy. Los Angeles is one of the top regions in the U.S. for emerging growth companies, and our practice there has grown substantially over the past few years. We’re making this investment to better serve our clients and to respond to the increasing demand in the Los Angeles technology, life sciences and investment communities.”

Southern Cal has been a hotbed of technology and life sciences companies in recent years, so it’s fitting that Fenwick’s growth strategy would revolve around that area.

“Santa Monica is a leading center of technology and investment in Southern California and an area that Fenwick has been steadily investing in,” said Brown. “We have nearly 200 clients in the broader Los Angeles area, including some of the world’s most cutting-edge tech companies, and have built relationships with major VC firms and key incubators. We’re committed to fostering growth in the Los Angeles tech ecosystem, and our expanded presence puts us that much closer to our clients.”

Congrats to Fenwick on the new digs, and good luck trying to get this earwig of 90s nostalgia out of your head now.
