Check Out The Epic Game Of Thrones Inspired Biglaw Farewell Email

Departure memos are a time honored tradition in Biglaw — a way to let your colleagues know what you’ll be up to when you leave… and maybe burn a few bridges on the way out the door. But not all farewell messages are bitter screeds lamenting the terrible conditions at their firm.

The latest offering to the farewell email pantheon making the rounds is an adorable ode to both Game of Thrones and the long hard hours of Biglaw life. The firm in question and other identifying information had been redacted by the time it made its way to Above the Law, but that almost makes it better. The specific firm doesn’t matter — any Biglaw outfit could fit the bill — it’s the sacrifice and dedication to the profession that is making it a must read.
