Amy Coney Barrett's Husband To Continue At Private Practice Firm Despite Ethics Concerns

Other lawyer-spouses of Supreme Court justices have left their firms.

Jesse Barrett, the husband of recently confirmed Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, in a statement on his law firm’s website. Other justices’ spouses have left private practice after the confirmation of their Supreme significant others to the high court. Barrett, like his wife, has not practiced in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, which would be an “obvious” conflict of interest per Michael Frisch, ethics counsel and adjunct professor at Georgetown Law.
