KRAMER LEVIN — MEMO — RETURN TO OFFICE
All New York and Silicon Valley:
As discussed during our town hall meeting today, we are developing a plan to return to the New York and Silicon Valley offices sometime in September, but not before September 20. We want to give everyone in the KL community time to plan for the transition, including preparing for child care, elder care, schooling, commuting and other needs and changes. Until then, our offices are open on a voluntary basis in accordance with our existing local protocols.
AI Is Reshaping Legal Practice—But Tools Aren’t The Real Differentiator.
Explore the mindset, cultural shifts, and training strategies that define the AI‑savvy lawyer, revealing why human judgment, standardized competence, and integrated learning—not technology alone—will shape the future of the profession.
A key takeaway from the survey we conducted last year is that you want flexibility in where you work. We are working on the parameters and protocols for our return, including developing a flexible work policy that will address the expected number of days in the office per week and many other details. We are planning for our attorneys to be able to work some days in the office and some days remotely on average each week. Where roles and responsibilities permit for our staff, we are also developing flexibility arrangements.
Our firm is built on strong relationships among us fostering collaboration, mentorship, growth and excellent client service. Our goal is to find a balance that ensures we continue to build on those fundamentals. They are critical to our success and what makes Kramer Levin a special place to work.
We will be conducting another survey to ask for your views on a variety of topics, including your experiences with working remotely this past year and your thoughts and concerns related to returning to the office. We will take into account the survey responses and considerations and concerns raised as we refine our flexible work policies.
Please take the time to respond to this important survey. The survey will be sent to you tomorrow morning from an outside party, Acritas, and sender’s email address will be [email protected]. The subject line will be Kramer Levin Survey.
