Top 20 Biglaw Firm Matches Cravath's $415K, Because That's What Elite Firms Do

This how it's done. Congrats!

money bonus A red gift box with hundred dollar billsMatchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match! Which top Biglaw firm is the latest to match the now prevailing Cravath salary scale?

It’s Ropes & Gray. Hot on the heels of the announcement of its enhanced parental leave program, the firm had another major announcement. (Told ya so!)

Last Wednesday, the firm matched the Davis Polk salary scale, and this Wednesday, it’s matching the Cravath salary scale. Here’s what that looks like:

Class year New 2022 base salary
2021 $215,000
2020 $225,000
2019 $250,000
2018 $295,000
2017 $345,000
2016 $370,000
2015 $400,000
2014 $415,000
2013+ $425,000

Note that the firm is doling out $425,00 salaries to the class of 2013 and beyond (just like Debevoise and Latham before it). Will any other firms be willing to make this match for its most senior associates?

Associates at the firm will see their raises reflected in their March paychecks, retroactive to January 1, 2022. Congratulations once again, everyone!
