Sad news from the plaintiffs’ bar. Steve Mostyn, a prominent Texas attorney, died Wednesday. The cause of death has been confirmed by his firm, Mostyn Law, as suicide:
Our family is heartbroken to confirm that Steve Mostyn ended his life on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017. Steve was a beloved husband and devoted father who adored his children and never missed a game. He was a true friend and a faithful fighter for those who did not have a voice.

Mostyn was best known for his insurance litigation, suing over hurricane-related damages. He was a former President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and a noted Democratic campaign contributor.
As reported by Texas Lawyer, Amber Anderson Mostyn, Steve Mostyn’s wife and a shareholder in the law firm, issued a statement:
“Our family is heartbroken to confirm that after a sudden onset and battle with a mental health issue, Steve passed away Wednesday,” Amber Mostyn wrote.
….“Steve was a beloved husband and devoted father who adored his children and never missed any of their sporting activities. He was a true friend and a faithful fighter for those who did not have a voice,” Amber Mostyn, a shareholder in Mostyn Law, said.
