ATL’s Legally Themed Halloween Costume Contest: The Winner (2018)

Who was the lucky winner of this year’s competition?

You came, you saw, you voted, and one duo absolutely dominated in this year’s legally themed Halloween costume contest. Our winning pair ran away with a third of the vote this year. Making legally themed Halloween costumes isn’t an easy feat, and many of this year’s submissions were quite creative — but perhaps even more creative was the method of voting that was used by some of our competitors. Nevertheless, we applaud the brave souls who subjected themselves to our judgment.

And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for. Who won our annual costume contest?

It’s the students who posed as Justice Antonin Scalia and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who took home 33 percent of the total vote. Thanks to some questionable voting procedures (as witnessed by our own eyes) — and because we like beer — we’re also awarding a prize to this year’s editors’ favorite: the couple who dressed up as Brett Kavanaugh’s calendar and his beer, taking in 31 percent of the vote.

Congrats on winning our annual costume contest. Email us collect your prize.

Thanks to everyone for submitting costumes and for voting (sometimes on numerous occasions). We sincerely hope you’ll submit a costume again for next year’s competition. Our readers are part of what makes Above the Law such a great website.
