Look what we have here. Yes, it’s another Cravath match, but this time it’s from a firm that’s usually one of the first to fall in line. Perhaps they were waiting for Davis Polk to breathe a bit more life into 2021’s year-end bonus scene before making their announcement but got tired of waiting.
Either way, once again, commercial litigation boutique Holwell Shuster & Goldberg — the firm founded by Judge Richard Holwell (formerly of the Southern District of New York) and his former White & Case colleagues Mike Shuster, Dan Goldberg, and Dorit Ungar Black — has taken the lead in announcing bonuses, ahead of almost all the other Biglaw firms that are likely soon to match the market.
